Roman is a 7-year-old little boy with cerebral palsy from Arvada, Colorado. Until recently, Roman was able to walk only a few feet with someone assisting him — otherwise he spent his time in a wheelchair. When School Resource Officer Brad Gagon of the Arvada Police Department realized that Roman could learn to walk with some aid, he went above and beyond to help. Officer Gagon designed and built a railing runway so Roman could learn to walk. The railing runway is eight feet long, made of PVC pipe, and painted in Roman’s favorite colors. Thanks to Officer Gagon, Roman can now practice walking without another person’s help! What a heartwarming story of a little boy’s determination to overcome adversity and a school resource officer’s selfless act to help.
