Long before George Floyd died in Minneapolis under the influence of illicit substances, a self-described “youth-led, youth-centered movement” was plotting violent unrest there as part of a campaign to “defund the police.” The outfit, known as the Sunrise Movement, is best known for its activism against “climate change,” and it openly boasts that it is “building an army of young people.” But there is much more to the shadowy group than that.

The children who are recruited into the “army” are not leading the Sunrise Movement, which has the backing of powerful billionaires; they are instead being indoctrinated and radicalized, and they are being deployed as cannon fodder and human shields in the planned civil turmoil in the war against police. The Sunrise Movement’s radical objectives include eliminating not only the police but also the free-market system. Mayhem is a welcome tool, according to its leaders. And the worst is yet to come: The organization brags it is planning “mass noncooperation to interrupt business as usual” next year.

The movement’s backers, including the unfathomably wealthy Rockefeller oil dynasty, almost certainly know their efforts will not actually end police departments. However, the battle cry to smash law enforcement is part of a broader campaign to generate support for far-left causes that includes exploiting global-warming fears. “This fight against climate change exists alongside the fight against white supremacy and colonialism,” the group declares on its website, adding that a “Green New Deal” is needed for “visionary change.” The site calls for stopping “climate change,” a phenomenon that has existed as long as the planet has, “by transforming our whole economy.”

The unrest engineered by Sunrise and other groups is not happening in a vacuum, as President Donald Trump explained in his Independence Day speech. The reason for the mayhem, the president said, is that naïve young protesters are being indoctrinated to hate their own nation in public schools across America. With help from the Sunrise Movement, these legions of poorly “educated” children — many of them literally still in middle school — are being duped into becoming child soldiers in a war against their own families and freedoms. They are being trained to commit a wide range of crimes amid extreme hostility toward private property, the family, and Western civilization. And there will be more extremism to come.

Anti-police Extremism on Video

A two-year investigation into the Sunrise Movement by conservative-leaning young journalist Millie Weaver (aka “Millennial Millie”) revealed determination to foment violence to achieve radical goals such as dismantling the police and overthrowing the system. Leaders of the movement were caught on video discussing their tactics. “These, like, escalations, these actions, can be really, really dangerous,” explained Sunrise organizer Abby Leedy in a Zoom call teaching children tactics to dismantle “patriarchy,” “transphobia,” and other alleged social ills. The “escalations” in question include strategic confrontations with police.

Another adult Sunrise organizer, Sarah Abbott, sporting a half-shaved head and a nose ring, similarly described military-style tactics as useful. “Uprisings, including actions like burning buildings, are legitimate and powerful forms of resistance,” Abbott said in footage obtained by Weaver. Again, these adults are training and weaponizing children to unleash violence, chaos, property damage, and other criminal activity to achieve political ends — the textbook definition of terrorism.

In that same video, Abbott explained that detailed organizing preceded the seemingly spontaneous riots that wreaked havoc in Minneapolis. “Black organizers and multi-racial groups of organizers in Minneapolis have been building power in the city for years now, and part of what they’ve been able to do with that power is to bring a lot of the city on their side,” Abbott explained, acknowledging that the orchestrated chaos was the fruit of years of careful planning. “What we are seeing is not just chaos, we’re actually seeing resistance and organizing.”

The goal, Abbott said in the video before dismissing activists into racially segregated online break-out groups for further instruction and discussion, is the “abolition of police.” “We are waging strategic campaigns to defund the Minneapolis police department,” she said in the video-meeting, which took place before the city council voted to advance the elimination of police in favor of a “holistic approach” to public safety amid skyrocketing crime. “We’re actually fighting for a world without police, and these campaigns are strategic and winnable. We can make huge gains toward it in moments of uprising like these.”

Another Sunrise organizer caught on video, Ashley Green, celebrated the burning of taxpayer property and brazen attacks on American law enforcement. “So last night, when that police station went up in flames, me and my girlfriend, we, we poured shots,” said Green, grinning while describing the looting and burning of Minneapolis’ third precinct police station amid Sunrise-orchestrated riots. “We were happy. It was celebration in this house.” Far-left state and local officials, of course, allowed the unrest to unfold by handcuffing the police.

Hating Police, for the Environment?

Formally founded in 2013 by far-left environmental activist Michael Dorsey, a member of the powerful Club of Rome, the focus of Sunrise back then was mostly on tackling “climate change” and promoting government control under the guise of “environmentalism.” The Club of Rome, which includes Chinese Communist Party members and figures such Al Gore and former Soviet dictator Mikhail Gorbachev, declared in its 1991 “The First Global Revolution” report that the “real enemy” of the planet “is humanity itself.”

With that background, it should be no surprise that Sunrise’s signature issues from the start were policies that would eventually be packaged as the “Green New Deal.” The controversial policy scheme, introduced in Congress by close Sunrise ally Representative Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), was described to this writer by Greenpeace co-founder Dr. Patrick Moore as a “recipe for mass suicide.” Among other concerns, he noted that the “completely preposterous” plan to end “fossil fuels” within 12 years would lead to global starvation, the decimation of the human population, and the total deforestation of the planet as people cut down trees in the scramble for heat and energy sources.

Obviously, such a plan was not politically popular, even with far-left Democrats. Plus, the endless beating of the global-warming horse and the failed environmental prophecies of doom weren’t garnering the sort of public support Sunrise leaders needed to move forward. Nor were those narratives getting the powerful financiers behind Sunrise much closer to undermining America or what remains of the free enterprise system. Sunrise seemed to be going nowhere, much to the disappointment of its leaders and financiers.

New issues were needed. And so, more recently, the organization has shifted gears, working to peddle anti-police hysteria and racial division as a means of undermining the American system of government. “America’s police force serves to protect a system that is fundamentally racist,” explained one of the Sunrise organizers during an ideological indoctrination session for children over Zoom, without actually explaining what about the U.S. system — based on the biblical idea that “all men are created equal” — was supposedly racist.

Top leaders of the group parrot the same talking points. “We won’t have a Green New Deal that works for everyone unless we concurrently address the sickness that lies in the soul of America,” said Varshini Prakash, the co-founder and executive director of Sunrise, suggesting that America was rotten to the core and needed a fundamental transformation.

With the added momentum from its role in the anti-police unrest, Sunrise and its leadership is gaining new prominence. In May, Sunrise leader Prakash was selected to serve on the Joe Biden-Bernie Sanders “Climate Change Task Force” alongside AOC and other socialists and anti-American extremists.

“I was honored and proud to stand alongside Bernie Sanders when our movement endorsed his candidacy. Now, I’m humbled that Bernie has endorsed me to carry on the fight for our agenda as a part of this task force,” Prakash said in a statement, referring to self-proclaimed socialist Bernie Sanders.

Interestingly, videos of Sunrise Zoom meetings show a girl alleging that she was the victim of sexual improprieties perpetrated by Biden speaking about what to do with the explosive and potentially damaging information about the candidate. One top Sunrise organizer even spoke about how to “leverage” that dirt to get Sunrise allies into prominent positions in his campaign. In legal-speak, this is known as blackmail — and it is a crime.

Training

Before George Floyd died, Sunrise spent years training young cadres to exploit “trigger events” that “can be made by the movement and can also be created in reaction to events that happen outside the movement,” its training documents show. The highly publicized death of Floyd while being restrained by a police officer, who has since been charged with murder, served as precisely such a “trigger event.” As soon as Floyd’s death went “viral,” the highly trained activists in Minneapolis — in cooperation with groups including Black Lives Matter and Antifa — swung into action by hitting the streets and launching riots. Hundreds of small Sunrise chapters across America known as “hubs” did, too.

Founders and leaders have been trained at the Momentum institute. This radical left-wing outfit, funded by billionaires and inspired by community-organizing kingpin Saul Alinsky (who dedicated his key book on organizing to Lucifer and advocated lying, crime, and other immorality as means to an end), trains left-wing operatives in “community organizing.” Among other tactics, the trainers teach would-be organizers how to foment public protests and create organizational structures that can push policies. Think rent-a-mob protesting outside, while the lobbyists in suits do the arm-twisting inside.

Sunrise recruiters go out on the prowl, deliberately seeking young people — especially children radicalized in government schools — to suck into the movement for further indoctrination. According to a puff piece about Sunrise in the far-left New Republic, these young recruits are then sent to live in “movement houses.” There, they are subjected to “intense trainings” to help them elect Democrats and target non-compliant politicians and police with “civil disobedience tactics.”

Recruits are given multiple documents and training manuals to prepare them for the war on their own society. Training includes instructions on how to use encrypted communications such as the Signal app for “sensitive” conversations to avoid law-enforcement surveillance. There is also endless ideological training, radicalizing vulnerable young people into becoming highly trained and brainwashed operatives for the far-left.

Children in the training program are taught by the adults running the group to get arrested as a means of advancing their agenda. The young people, following directions from adults, are split into two “teams.” One is made up of children who are unwilling to get arrested for various reasons. The other team of children includes those on the “front line” who are instructed to actively seek to be arrested by defying police. The goal of the arrests is to create a public spectacle for the media, making the children look heroic and persecuted by “The Man.”

Interestingly, at least one Sunrise organizer, who used the name “Rose,” expressed concerns in communications obtained by Weaver about the legal implications inherent in exploiting young children in this manner. She worried it might constitute child endangerment, a serious crime, and wanted legal advice.

Behind the Scenes: Funding

All of this organization takes money — millions of dollars, in fact. But there is plenty to go around. Sunrise began with help from the Sierra Club, a radical environmentalist group with huge resources funded by billionaires including George Soros, who continues to fund Sunrise through shadowy pass-throughs such as Democracy PAC. Another key financier of the movement is “green” billionaire Tom Steyer, who was heavily invested in Chinese coal while lobbying against coal in America to support his “green energy” investments in “alternative” sources.

Interestingly, Sunrise’s headquarters listed on its tax return are at the Washington, D.C., office of the Climate Action Network (CAN) on F Street. CAN’s largest funding source is the Sea Change Foundation, a shadowy outfit that, according to congressional investigations, has been receiving money from the Kremlin and its state-owned energy interests through a shell corporation in Bermuda called “Klein Ltd.”

But according to an investigation by Insider Philanthropy, Sunrise’s largest financial backer has been the Rockefeller Family Foundation, an outfit that funds many other far-left organizations as well. Longtime family patriarch David Rockefeller wrote in the New York Times in 1973 that the “social experiment in China under Chairman Mao’s leadership is one of the most important and successful in history.” He boasted in his own memoirs about “conspiring” with a “secret cabal” to create a “One World” political and economic system, “against the best interests of the United States.”

Ironically, the Rockefeller dynasty made its fortune in oil and fossil fuels. And perhaps even more ironically, for decades, Rockefeller foundations were the largest financiers of race-based eugenics and the pseudo-scientific “research” purporting to justify it. The oil family’s support for eugenics was so extreme that the Rockefeller Foundation helped to found the National Socialist (Nazi) eugenics program in Germany and bankrolled Nazi Auschwitz “doctor” Josef Mengele’s work, according to historian Edwin Black.

Why would oil-rich foundations with a history of racism support Sunrise and similar groups? Georgetown University historian Carroll Quigley, whom Bill Clinton referred to as his mentor, revealed the answer in his 1966 book Tragedy and Hope. “There does exist, and has existed for a generation, an international Anglophile network which operates, to some extent, in the way the radical Right believes the Communists act,” he wrote. “In fact, this network, which we may identify as the Round Table Groups, has no aversion to cooperating with the Communists, or any other groups, and frequently does so.” Their goal was global feudalistic control of humanity, he said. Out of the chaos being fomented in the streets, these powerful interests hope to usher in a new order that grants them even more money and power.

And because the destruction has largely been confined to jurisdictions controlled by far-left Democrat officials such as Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, the perpetrators of the criminal violence and mayhem believe they have little to fear from the law.

Perhaps recruiting child soldiers for the war on America will be the final straw.
