George Soros and the Politics of Chaos

By Jerome R. Corsi, Ph.D.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Taking a page from the race riots and the violent Vietnam War protests of the 1960s and early 1970s, hard-left billionaire George Soros appears determined to escalate his campaign to destroy America by openly funding the politics of chaos.

On August 14, 2015, the Washington Times documented that Soros had funded to the tune of some $33 million the leftist groups that ignited violent riots in Ferguson, Missouri, a year earlier, with activists bussed to Ferguson by a host of far-left groups funded by Soros in Chicago, New York, and Washington.

With the decision of the Democratic National Party on Saturday, February 25, to appoint as its new chair former Obama administration Secretary of Labor Tom Perez, Soros and his Open Society Foundations appear ready to pursue a full-out Saul Alinsky strategy of rubbing raw social tensions over race, immigration, and discrimination.

On May 15-16, 2014, Soros’ Open Society Foundations hosted then-Secretary of Labor Perez at its board meeting in New York City. Among the questions for Perez recommended by the staff of the foundation was this: “What is Department of Labor’s role in the implementation of DACA [Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals] and the intersection of DACA and workforce development issues? What can be done to ensure full implementation of DACA?”

DACA was the program President Obama established by executive order that allowed children who entered the U.S. illegally before 2007, if they were under 16 at the time of entry, to receive a two-year period of deferment on deportation and to receive a “green card” permit to work, provided they were enrolled in school (or honorably discharged from the military) and had a clean criminal record. The issue was brought before the Supreme Court and on June 23, 2016, the Court deadlocked in a 4-4 tie on DACA, leaving in place an appeals court record that blocked the Obama administration from making DACA permanent and expanding the DACA privileges to parents of DACA-eligible youths.

The decision of the Open Society Foundations staff to question Perez on open-border measures he might advance as secretary of labor was appropriate given that Perez began his political career as a member of the Latino activist group La Raza (“The Race”). La Raza advocates as its founding principle that major portions of the American Southwest should be returned to Mexico and/or allowed to form a nation of indigenous Indians and Latinos called “Atzlan.” La Raza activists typically underplay their extreme belief that the United States should cede major portions of California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas back to Hispanic rule.

From 1995 to 2000, Perez served on the board of Casa of Maryland, a Hispanic advocacy group also affiliated with La Raza. In 2007, serving as Maryland’s labor secretary, Perez joined students to urge the Maryland Legislature to approve a bill granting in-state tuition rates to illegal immigrants. In 2012, as U.S. assistant attorney general for civil rights, Perez sued Joe Arpaio, then sheriff of Arizona’s Maricopa County, alleging that Arpaio had implemented police procedures discriminatory to the rights of Hispanic illegal immigrants.

In his first move as Democratic National Convention (DNC) chair, Perez appointed his rival for the position, Minnesota Representative Keith Ellison, as deputy chair. Ellison, a Black Muslim, was the candidate favored by Senator Bernie Sanders and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, two of the Democratic Party’s most openly declared radical socialists.

Let’s face it – this Soros-funded Democratic Party is not the social-liberal Democratic Party of prior generations. The agenda of this new hard-left Democratic Party has much more in common with Communist Party USA than it does with the platform on which Senator John F. Kennedy ran for president in 1960.

Democrats radicalized by Senator George McGovern’s anti-war agenda in 1968, however, were the precursors for a Democratic Party today willing to unleash violent anarchists to advance an agenda that includes radical LGBT “rights” such as transgender bathrooms in elementary schools, repeated calls for abortion on demand, open borders and sanctuary cities that resist deporting even criminal illegal immigrants, and violently angry Trump-haters calling openly for the White House to be bombed.

George Soros, via his expansive Open Society Foundations, has been behind the move to transform the Democratic Party from the liberal agenda of John F. Kennedy and Hubert Humphrey of the 1960s into the radical hard-left revolutionary party of Weather Underground domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, with Soros ready to pour hundreds of millions of dollars into training rabble-rousers (including the mentally ill) to move disruptive and potentially violent protests from the streets into the normally civil environment of local school boards, town hall meetings, and state legislatures.

Now, with Perez and Ellison at the head of the DNC, Soros will have additional leverage to transform the Democratic Party into an even more radical organization: one that disrupts every Trump-supporting senator or congressional member from giving a speech or holding a town hall meeting; one that contests in the courts every attempt by President Trump to control the borders and deport criminal illegal aliens as a first priority; one that attacks all conservative media as “fake news” deserving to be silenced; one that marches in the streets with the determination to break windows, block traffic, shout obscenities, and get into fist fights.

Attacking the police is essential to Soros’ strategy to fund the politics of chaos for the radical hard-left organizing in the United States as part of an international socialist revolutionary movement.

By funding Black Lives Matter, Soros intends to target every police officer unfortunate enough to be assigned to patrolling a minority community of a Democratic Party-controlled major city such as Baltimore or Detroit. Today, police officers risk ending their careers should they be forced in the line of duty to draw a weapon in self-defense to restrain a black teenager criminally wielding lethal force. When we understand that the agenda of Black Lives Matter is to cause chaos by intimidating police, we should not be surprised that murder rates are escalating in Chicago.

Now that President Trump is in the White House and Tom Perez is DNC chair, Soros can be expected to step up his enthusiastic funding of a host of Alinsky-like “community organizers.” These movement revolutionaries and anarchists are determined to delegitimize everything President Trump tries to accomplish. The chaos these hard-left radicals intend to create will be fueled by a mainstream media preconditioned to present radicals on the left as victims of the corrupt, capitalistic imperialism now epitomized by Trump.

The New York Post article also noted that after the Berkeley campus erupted in flames and violence to prevent Milos Yiannopoulos from speaking, Hollywood stars Debra Messing and Sarah Silverman both tweeted their support for the rioters, with Messing saying, “Resistance works” and Silverman tweeting, “Wake Up & Join the Resistance.”

Determined that their radical causes have moral justification that transcends ideology, this hard-left Democratic Party will certainly abandon all respect for the First Amendment, in their determination to demonize and silence anyone who dares to object.  The abuse hard-left Democratic ideologues are preparing to unleash on Hillary’s “deplorables” – those of us that former President Obama demeaned as “clinging” to our guns and our bibles – will have no precedent in U.S. political history.

In the front lines of this coming political battle will be law enforcement officers that will have no choice but to contend against the violent anarchists that invaded the nation’s capital to break windows, block highways, and spit upon the GOP faithful who were in Washington to celebrate Trump’s inauguration.

But this time, as compared to the 1960s, what will be on the shoulders of law enforcement will be not just the responsibility to maintain civil order, but more importantly to defend the very Constitutional principles that make civil order possible.

All those taking to the streets and the town hall meeting to protest that “Trump is not my President,” must stop and think how outraged they would have been had the political opponents of Barack Obama done the same after his electoral victories in 2008 and 2012.

The point is that if Soros – by funding groups like Black Lives Matter – succeeds in undermining the authority upon which honest law enforcement intends to preserve, protect and defend civil society, Soros will have succeeded in opening the door to a politics of chaos that ultimately risks undermining the American Republic itself.
