A new tool has intentions of building better relationships between police and the community, and a better chance of catching the bad guys.
“Blue Alert”, a warning system similar to “Amber Alert”, would notify the public when an officer is wounded or killed in the line of duty. The alert would include a description of the perpetrator so that the public can help police catch them.
According to the article posted at emissourian.com, many local police chiefs are excited about and it’s opportunity to strengthen their bond with the community, but they are also apprehensive about a citizen taking matters into their own hands.
