Police in Israel are rolling out some new safety gear – but not what you’d expect. By this time next year, all police officers will be equipped with a body camera.
According to a story posted on www.timesofisrael.com, 150 officers participated in a trial, and found positive results – namely in how citizens interacted with the officers.
This raises the question – would body cameras help ebb the ongoing tide of police brutality and accusations here in the U.S.? Would fanatic BLM supporters behave differently if they knew they were being filmed? Would cops be able to go back to pro-active policing, knowing they were being backed up by physical evidence? It’s definitely something to ponder.
